Corcovado National Park is one of the largest parks in Costa Rica, and with the greatest biodiversity. Corcovado has approximately 100,000 acres and is located on the southwestern region of the Osa Peninsula. There are no roads inside the park. There are only two ways to visit Corcovado: walking or by air. Corcovado National Park is located just 500 meters from La Leona Eco Lodge. You begin your hike in Corcovado on a path close to the beach, 16 kilometers to arrive at Sirena Biological Station. If you decide to visit the park by air, you leave from the airfield in Carate, located 3 kilometers from La Leona ecolodge, landing within a few minutes on a grass field in Sirena, right in the center of the park. Inside the park you will find many paths in the primary forest and if lucky, you may have the opportunity to see a puma, an animal that could be found in the Corcovado area, because it needs this type of habitat.
