With 29 years experience in Building and Construction HomeZone could be the only resource you need for all your properties maintenance, installation and DIY requirements. How much do you charge? For smaller jobs, we charge £19.50 for the first ½-hour, and £12 per ½-hour thereafter or a full day for £150 (a day is 7 hours). For larger projects which may take one or more days, we'll give you an estimate based on our lower daily rate. All materials we supply are charged extra. At the moment, we don't charge VAT. Does this include the cost of materials? No. Any materials we supply are extra. Many customers have already bought their own materials, and use us only for labour. However, we do carry a wide selection of commonly needed parts and materials with us in case you've forgotten anything, so we're often able to just get on with the job. We're equally happy to select and supply the parts and materials you need, but we'll charge you for this. Do you give free estimates? We can give you a good idea of the time needed to do most jobs over the phone. If when we arrive the job looks like it's going to take a lot longer, we'll revise our estimate, and if you then decide not to go ahead, we won't charge you anything. For bigger jobs, such as fitting a new kitchen, we'll call first to discuss your project with you and give you an estimate. How quickly can you attend? All our work is booked in advance, usually a few days ahead. But we can sometimes take on work the same day. Do you work in the evenings and at the weekends? Yes. We charge a premium of 50% for this service. Will you be on time? We know your time is valuable, and we know how frustrating it can be when tradesmen are either late or don't turn up at all. We make every effort to be on time, but we do sometimes get held up in traffic or on a previous job. If for any reason we get delayed by more than 30 minutes, we'll call to let you know. We carry £1m of public liability insurance. How qualified are you? 29 years practical experience in building and construction. Do you do Gas work? Generally no. We have a Corgi approved gas engineer who we bring in as needed when, for example, we're fitting a new kitchen, and need to move or fit a new boiler or gas hob. What's the largest job you take on?
